Dr. Miller not only prides himself on the repeated recognition as one of New York’s leading rhinoplasty surgeons, but he has an accomplished international reputation as well. Patients from around the globe regularly travel to his Manhattan office to benefit from his diagnostic expertise and surgical skills. 25% of his patients live in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Central and South America and Russia. The Fly-In Program addresses the distinctive needs and accommodations for these particular traveling patients.
What Is The Fly-In Program?
Since a substantial number of Dr. Miller’s patients travel from outside the New York area for his rhinoplasty services, Dr. Miller has implemented the Fly-In Program. Traveling for cosmetic surgery requires special considerations by both doctor and patient, and this program addresses those unique needs.
Dr. Miller’s expertise and gentle hand allows for minimal recovery times. However, a nose job is still a surgical procedure that requires some down time. Swelling and bruising will occur, but the majority of Dr. Miller’s out-of-town patients find that they are able to comfortably return home within a week of surgery.
Dr. Miller’s staff is very experienced assisting out-of-town patients with their exclusive and personalized needs. From making hotel arrangements to arranging post-operative nursing care, Dr. Miller’s staff will do their best to ensure that a patient’s experience is as comfortable and convenient as possible.
How Does The Fly-In Program Work?
Dr. Miller recognizes that most out-of-town patients do not want to make two separate trips to NYC for a consultation and procedure. That is why he has implemented the Virtual Consultation.
Potential rhinoplasty patients can contact Dr. Miller’s office to begin the Virtual Consultation process. Once contact is initiated, the Virtual Consultation process includes:
- Secure EMR Portal Access
Dr. Miller’s secure online electronic medical record is accessible 24 hours a day, throughout the globe. You will be sent an email with instructions on how to log in to your account and complete the pre-consultation questionnaire. There is also the capability of uploading photographs for Dr. Miller to review.
- Dr. Miller Reviews Your Information
If he determines you are a good candidate for rhinoplasty, your Virtual Consultation will be scheduled with Dr. Miller and his patient coordinator either via telephone or Skype.
- Virtual Consultation
Utilizing the latest in video teleconferencing capabilities, Dr. Miller will perform your consultation. This will include gathering more information about your overall health as well as a more detailed list of your concerns. Recommendations will be offered and photographs depicting the intended result will be shared and discussed. Once your consultation is complete, the Patient Adviser will contact you to schedule your procedure and discuss payment options. A deposit is required to reserve the surgery date and operating suite. The balance for your procedure is due two weeks prior to surgery.
- You Receive The Pre-Operative Information Packet
Shortly before your scheduled surgery date, you will receive an information packet via e-mail. This packet will contain all “pre” and “post” operative instructions. It is imperative that you read through everything carefully to make sure you have a clear understanding of what is expected and needed, allowing you an opportunity to contact the office with any questions in advance. Surgery may be cancelled if you fail to adhere to the pre-operative directions in any way.
What Happens Once I Arrive?
Fly-In Program patients should report to Dr. Miller’s office the day prior to their scheduled procedure. Dr. Miller’s Patient Adviser will prep you for your nose job. You will then meet with Dr. Miller to review all of the information exchanged over the prior correspondences and reaffirm the goals and expectations of the procedure. A follow-up is scheduled approximately 7 days after the procedure. You may fly on the 7th day after the procedure, though some patients request and are permitted to leave sooner.
Rest assured that your health remains our utmost priority even after you return home. Should you require any medical attention once you leave the NYC area, we encourage you to contact our office and we can assess the situation from afar and may refer you to a local physician to address your needs.
Three international airports serve the greater New York City area including LaGuardia (LGA), John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Newark Liberty (EWR). Teterboro Airport (TEB) is also a popular hub for private jets, and is located less than fifteen miles from Dr. Miller’s office.
